I could read my weight in sociological or historical postulates and they wouldn’t care at all. Maybe my mistake was in expecting dignity; thinking that the welfare state would support someone like me.
They said it’s all they can afford and I can’t argue, I missed my chance to. But I’ve got a family of four and no other means to go out and buy food.

Oh well. I grew up powerless and I’ll die just the same. I’ll go from the afternoon to the nightshift all for someone else’s gain. Bottom rung is where I’ll stay.
